SXSW I Go!

I was determined to attend one industry conference this year and through the Market Access Program I finally will be able to meet and greet a few online peers I’ve befriended and/or worked with from afar!

To say I am excited would be an understatement.

At any rate, let me just give you a brief summary of things that I (unfortunately) haven’t been blogging about but puttering about in the background:

  • Lealea.net’s design and coding was stolen. It had to happen sometime, I suppose, but why did it have to be a porn site? (I would laugh if it wasn’t so sad) However, thanks to the tips I found on Reese’s blog the culprits swiftly and quietly took my design down. No fanfare, no lynch mobbing. Thank goodness.
  • I will be developing Art of Self-Branding as a live presentation, and I hope others.
  • Currently working on a new iteration of lealea.net
  • I’ve become a volunteer broadcaster at VoicePrint Canada It’s fun to read the news. Today, I read sports stories.
  • I’m learning how to belly dance (OK, so that wasn’t professionally related, but I thought I’d throw it in there)

How do you plan to be in three places at the same time?

Hopefully I’ll see you there. We have a pretty similar schedule, though mine’s not nearly as planned out.

Well, I don’t actually plan on being at the same place at the same time. Considering how packed this conference is, I want to know I have other options for some times.

Great to finally meet you Lea :) Having a ball with you. Hope you’re having fun.

Take care

It was awesome (briefly) meeting you Lea, and of course sorry again for stepping on your foot. :)

Thanks for coming to the panel as well.

See you next year maybe.

Lea, this blog is fantastic, truly an example of what one can and should do with self-branding. I plan to start my own and will look to you for inspiration. It has been a blast, Fiona.

I have the most bizarre story. It involves someone planting a knife on me…

Seriously, it was weird.

Oh, and nice meeting you. :-)

@Zach, Erik, Fiona, and James: It was awesome to meet you all!

@Erik: Yes, hopefully we can hang out some more next year. Let’s talk comics and illustration. :D

@James: That knife story is pretty classic. I’m glad you are still alive. :-)
